      Save Our Selma

The Norristown Preservation Society is looking to the future by restoring the
past. Our county seat is rich in history
and NPS is at the forefront of keeping
that history alive.

The Norristown Preservation Society is asking our local business owners and other interested parties to help preserve the legacy of General Andrew Porter, one of the founders of the Marine Corp, Thomas P. Knox, developer of the West End, Joseph Fornance,
congressman and borough council president and their home, Selma
Mansion at 1301 W. Airy Street in Norristown.

Through the generosity of the Develcom Corporation, we have received a grant of $5000.

Their generosity allows us to continue
our clean-up efforts, establish a meeting place and office for NPS, and open the doors of the mansion to other non-profit and community groups for meetings, receptions, and fundraising events.

The gifts will also provide for the foundation of our most ambitious fundraising drive to date, “ 10 in ’10, Ten thousand Dollars in 2010” With your donation we can finally consider the retirement of the mortgage on Selma Mansion, establish the next phase of renovation and restoration. and move
one step closer to preserving an
important part of Norristown’s history.

Please help us move toward the  future by restoring the past.

Our October clean-up was held and progress was made toward the restoration of Selma!
