Each year, the Norristown Preservation Society presents awards for buildings which have gained recognition because of renovations, restorations or tasteful decoration. Award Certificates and U.S. Savings Bonds are also given to area students for their portrayal of past illustrious governors during the annual History Day event. Below are first place 2008 Governors portrait contest winner Christopher Carasella, with Principal Deborah Jaster (in black) and 4th grade teacher Joanne Volpe.
